A new look

“I need a haircut” I told my friend Tshering Yangki who is also my roommate since 2013. She gave me that familiar awful look she usually did whenever I kept my words of having haircut. I never enjoy having a long hair and as and when my hair grows beyond my neck, I feel completely suffocated requiring a haircut anyhow. I did have long hair for a period of two years while in my middle school and when my present friends look at my photos of that time, they encourage me a lot to keep my hair long.

From the very young age only, I kept my hair short as it was always easy to manage and didn’t require much care. But most of my haircuts are done at home either by my mother’s friend or my own friends. I must have visited saloon only for a countable number of times. My friends like Urmila, Sonam Choki, Tashi Dema, Yeshey Pelden and Tshering Pelden as I can remember provided me considerable number of haircuts during my school days. Now I dragged my roommie Yangki into the list.

Urmila was the first among my friends to cut my hair in primary school. Then came my friend Yeshey in class ten to cut my hair. Tashi Dema and Sonam Choki cut my hair jointly as it was their first time cutting hair but I must say that they did a good start. I got a nice haircut from them. In my high school, Tshering Pelden (Kuchu) received the privilege of cutting my hair…lol. When I asked kuchu if she can cut hair, she directly said yes. I was told later only by her that she performed her first experiment of cutting hair on me. But I was extremely okay with it because she gave me a good and presentable haircut and it didn’t seem like her first try at all. And so I had few more haircuts done by her in my high school days.

Coming to college, there was no friend of mine who could cut hair so I had no other option than to visit the expensive saloons of Alaknanda market. The haircut they did wasn’t satisfying and I had to pay INR 250 per occasion and I did this for around more than 2 years now.

And today when I again had the need of having a haircut, my friends suggested of watching YouTube and learning from there. I browsed and got a video which I showed to Tshering Yangki. She looked at it and said she can do it and then her training began for cutting hair. It was a sad part from the scissors which didn’t work well and made her struggle. But her first try was not bad and I am satisfied with my new haircut. I feel if I had allowed her to cut my hair from the beginning of our stay together only, she must have been well-trained in this field by now.

  2. You got a nice hair cut ;) . Thank to Tshering for her first practice on your hair lol :P. Tshering is such a beautiful lady, I presume. And now she's a heroine as she saved INR 250 which is worth spending in other more important things. Keep writing because I know you love that. Regards to you and Tshering. Always Do Great. Take Care.

  3. I have been always with a thought that I too can give a good hair cut for any lady having long hair because I feel there is nothing much to be done like in case of us, men. But then who will be that much courageous to offer me a chance to cut their hair? LOL.
On a serious note, you look dashing in that haircut. I can only assume your neck glowing as it must have not received good sunlight to darken up.

    1. Thank you for reading my blog and for your compliments too Sherab. And yeah my neck is completely glowing...haha. I know how fragile girls become when it comes to cutting their hair and I bet you will have a tough time to find a girl who would offer you your chance to cut her hair. So all the best for that.

      Take care!!!
